A school specializing in teaching English to children and teenagers, with a focus on tailoring learning to each developmental stage, aimed to update and enhance its learning offerings. Over a period of three months, a multidisciplinary team worked on leveraging digital content to improve the school’s methodology and add more value to the business.

The challenge was to evolve teaching materials using digital tools to enhance the methodology while preserving the core essence of the service.

The project was structured into three phases: research, definition, and solution.

The research phase involved a comprehensive exploration of various aspects of the educational environment and existing tools:

  • Conducted 7 interviews with internal teams across different company areas.

  • Visited 6 school units in three states: Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro.

  • Completed 30 in-depth interviews, including 12 with technical staff (coordinators, teachers, and franchisees), 12 with parents and students from the school, and 6 with parents and students from competitor institutions.

  • Held 3 focus groups with experts in pedagogy and edtechs for children and teenagers.

  • Analyzed 18 competitors through a benchmarking study.

  • Performed 5 interviews to evaluate existing educational tools.

The Solution

During the ideation workshop, we identified three key areas to prototype and test:

Digital Tools Ecosystem

A new flow reconnecting all digital tools, adding new functionalities, and enriching them with features. We redesigned the ecosystem, integrating each part to make it more fluid and meet the needs of all stakeholders involved.

Phygital Teaching Material Concepts and Activity Bank

The concepts aim to illustrate examples of interaction with phygital teaching materials, rather than suggesting activities.

The activity bank for teachers serves as support for applying the curriculum, managing lessons, and integrating digital tools with the teaching material. It also serves as a tool for collaboration among teachers.

Student Portfolio

For students and parents, this portfolio will serve as a record of activities updated as students progress through the content in class and engage with the proposals, unlocking new activities and earning "rewards" within the student platform.
